Heinrichsen French Infantry 2 - 40mm Flats
Been making steady progress on set # 4077 despite higher than average amounts of yard work & household repairs, kid's parties on the weekend and income tax filings. I've actually finished a dozen but the last four are in the queue for final coating. So I'm pretty confident of wrapping up the whole formation before the end of the month.
What's next ? I'm going to keep going for a while on the Franco-Prussian War in 40mm toy soldier style, using flats and semi-rounds as much as possible. I got a good deal on several SCAD molds on German eBay last week, should have these four molds in hand before too long and will report on how the casting goes.

Beautiful looking figures.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mosstrooper. I think the somewhat antiquated style is not to everyone's taste so I'm glad you like them.

Superb colours!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing those Scad figures. I won a lot of Scad and another make of molds on ebay about 10 years ago but they never arrived.
ReplyDeleteI love the painting on these French flats. Reminds me a bit of the printed ones one sees.
Thanks very much, Simon and Ross.
ReplyDeleteBummer about your Scads gone missing, Ross. I too look forward to see how they cast. Few examples to be found: one very nicely painted Old Guard Grenadier was shown by David on the "Charge Bayonet!" blog last year and a photo of several figures covered in indifferent paint jobs in my Bleisoldaten book is about the exent of it.
From what I can glean they're pretty well-proportioned and fairly flat. I'm eagerly anticipating finding out first hand.
Regards,
Steve
